Dear Friends,

Here's a song to cheer you up on the shortest day of the year: "Reach Out of the Darkness" by Friend & Lover.  Sing along and let it lift your spirits.  Revel in the paradox that during these dark times  "it's so groovy now that people are finally gettin' together; … it's wonderful and how that people are finally getting' together".

Another paradox: as the heightened activity of this season swirls around us for better and for worse, we are not only allowed, but encouraged to go inward. Rest; re-charge; renew. At this time of year, allow the dark itself to be a friend.

Happy Winter Solstice to all of you and yours. Faith in faith; Trust in trust.
It gets lighter from here.

Let me understand this
gathering of shadows
our falling apart

before coming together
in the dark, we were confused

we forgot
the fertility of shadows
breeding like-minded others

we forgot
the specific work of seeds
finding nurture underground

before their hard push of bursting
forth into manifestation

we forgot
the heart's pilot light
